Four Acquitted of Murder
April 1, 1989
Four teenagers were charged with murder in the death of a 30-year-old man in Hoboken. This young man allegedly skilled in martial arts was taunted by the teens and became engaged in a fight. Our client, W.A. was the oldest and biggest of the group. We asked him to wear a pair of eyeglasses, a white shirt, and a tie in order to look studious and vulnerable to the jury. We also tried to minimize the client’s role in the melee as he was also in a separate struggle with the victim’s friend. Our client was convicted of simple assault instead of murder, with 30 years to life. -The Jersey Journal
